Kiaeryn
singer-songwriter and producer
Bio
Kiaeryn is a singer-songwriter who taught themself how to sing, write and produce their songs as a kid. From songs about the sun coming back to songs about chinchillas, Kiaeryn always had ideas. Now in their 20s, they write melancholically about the things that keep them up at night in an indie-pop project they call “1 AM.” Drawing from artists such as Billie Eilish and Girl and Red, Kiaeryn creates somber sounds and lyrics that tiptoe between relatability and exaggeration.
Kiaeryn’s newest single, “Heart of Rust,” completes a two-song set with “Bury Your Love,” telling the story of a sapphic relationship torn apart by expectations to fit into heterosexual society. In “Heart of Rust,” Kiaeryn takes listeners through the mindset of leaving a good queer relationship for an unhappy straight one for protection from what others think.
A recent graduate of University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Kiaeryn uses their music degree to combine emotional compositions with technical productions that give life to their ideas. Kiaeryn was recently featured in the Midwestern queer magazine Crispy and performed their song “Bury Your Love” at the launch.
Bury Your Love
“When the raindrops touch your skin, do they wash away your sin?”
“Bury Your Love” is Kiaeryn’s exaggerated take on hiding who you are. The song details the thoughts of a queer woman who has been buried alive by her lover. The lover buries her love to hide her true sexuality and feelings from herself.
“Bury Your Love” was released on February 21, 2025.
Heart of Rust
“Everything will be fine if you're out of sight, maybe someday out of mind.”
"Heart of Rust" is the follow-up and opposite perspective of Kiaeryn's “Bury Your Love.” The song brings more dignity to a flawed character. Kiaeryn channels feelings of guilt and worry to produce a more upbeat, but equally melancholy tune.
“Heart of Rust” was released on September 12, 2025.
